Marion is a proud Gamilaroi woman from Moree, NSW.
Marion is a founding member of Ngwala. During the late 1990’s, Marion managed Galiamble Mens Recovery Centre then moved to Co-ordinator of Residential Services, returning to take the role of Chairperson of Ngwala in 2021.
Marion is the current Chairperson of Djirra (21 years), Southern RAJAC (18 years) and a member of the Aboriginal Justice Forum (22 years). Marion was a signatory to the inaugural Aboriginal Justice Agreement in 2000, and a signatory to all four agreements. She has also been a member of AJC for 24 years and is the current co-chair of AJC (18 years). Marion is into her second term on the Youth Parole Board.
Marion has worked within the community sector for over 45 years across three levels of government including two terms as the ATSIC Commissioner (Victoria) and four terms within ATSIC altogether. In addition to this, Marion spent a number of years working in Health as an Aboriginal Health and Hospital Liaison Officer (AHHLO).
